Hi Robert,

Welcome to the Forum.

Have you opened your email account properties and confirmed the settings have not changed?
  • For example: pop3 / smtp settings, imap settings, SSL is checked or not checked?

That leaves a couple of possibilities then:
  1. Your antivirus application has integrated with your mail and is interfering with it. You can test this by disabling the antivirus then seeing whether mail now works or not.
  2. Your SRS file [Send/Receive Settings file] has become corrupted. When this happens you will be unable to access these settings via the Email apps Edit options. In that scenario do the following:
  • Close the Office 2007 and / or Outlook Email
  • Open File Explorer and in the top address bar type or copy & paste the following:
Code:
%appdata%\Microsoft\Outlook\

Press Enter key
  • Now locate the SRS file and rename by adding .old to end of the file name
  • Close File Explorer
  • Reopen Office or Outlook email and set up your send receive settings again

Try going into programs and features and "repairing " Office.
Also, possibly you need to setup a new Ms Outlook profile. Do this:
Go to Users\Yourname\Appdata\Local\ Microsoft\Outlook and delete the *,ost file there.
Start Outlook (Not Word) and it will rewrite your profile in accordance with the latest update. .- Don't worry, it will keep everything intact.
See if the problem is resolved.
