Sometimes I leave my computer for a while (when I go out for lunch, for example) and when I get back the cursor is just stuck. When I move the mouse nothing happens. Any keyboard combo I try just doesn't work. It just froze.

I was looking in my Event Viewer - System but I can't make much of it:

The server {B91D5831-B1BD-4608-8198-D72E155020F7} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

The Update Orchestrator Service service hung on starting.

The Downloaded Maps Manager service hung on starting.

Any ideas?

Hello Wolfie,

Thanks for your message.

1. I did/do not use Cortana, but I ran the regedit anyway.

My registry now says: AllowCortana REG_DWORD 0x00000000 (0)

2. I have:
Edition Windows 10 Pro
Version 20H2
Installed on ‎28/‎01/‎2021
OS build 19042.746
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.551.0

However, the problem persists.

Screen: 30 minutes
Sleep: never

(it's a desktop)

Are you saying my problem could be related to those 30 minutes?

I really don't know as I never use sleep or hibernate neither in Windows or Linux as I always found them a pain!. Try switching it to never and see if you still have a problem, if you don't leave it switch to "Never"!. :)

Hi DC,

I don't know if it will help but you can try Advanced Start-up Options and run the troubleshooter!. ;)
