Need Driver for Western Digital My Passport mobile Drive

hi, i have windows 10 and my wmd passport 1 tb 730 is not recognised on the laptop. i read this thread and saw the devide manager shows the device but when i update the driver it gives error message , picture attached, can some one please help?

i went online, downloaded wd ses driver for 64 and tried to update the driver then i got the following message:

but drive still not located ! :(

My recommendation: Go into the device manager and find out if the drive is recognized there. If it is and its not showing up in the Windows Explorer, then it basically does not have a letter assigned to it. Go into the drive management and assign a letter to this drive. Sometimes Windows forgets to assign one automatically.

I am at a loss here. My WES devices even work without the driver installed. Do you see in your device manager that the driver IS installed (see picture)??

Are your devices plugged in a USB3 port or a USB2 port?
I cannot recreate a problem with a USB3 port as I do not have one...

yes i see as shown in your picture. i am using usb 3.0.
its a bit bizare , i think i need to find someone who can extract my data form this drive. looks like i won't be able to use this drive any more?!!

maybe you just need to try a USB2 port instead as mentioned earlier in this thread.... Can't hurt, can't it?

Can you try the drive on a different computer?? Just to rule out it is the drive....
I am running out of ideas.......

i have tried another laptop too.....infact couple of months back this drive was detected on a laptop but then suddenly it stopped appearing. i will try with 2.0 too...let me search one.

USB2 ports have a black plastic piece in it while USB3 the piece is blue. can't miss them.....
