New Update for 1803-Interesting reading

I agree, but I haven't seen it yet in Windows Update. I was wondering if the Insiders were seeing installs which were doing something like this. I think a couple of folks said the latest build took a little longer to install.

Personally, I would rather a popup message warning me I needed more space on my drive than quietly compressing files without my knowledge.

The last update did not require a reboot, so possibly it set a registry entry to be used for future updates?

Nothing going on with the latest 19H1 Insider builds today except a Defender Update.

versions 1507, 1511, 1607, 1703, 1709, and 1803

As far as I know, even the slowest Insider Build (Release Preview Ring) is an 1809 Version, which I expect to go to the 19H1 builds after the Bug Bash in January.
Looks like that update applies to 1803 Versions or older.

I would expect the future builds to have this built in or at least it being added, thus the question about install observations regarding the newest Insider builds.

But I suppose it does not really make a difference..

I saw this file compression actually happening on a system over on the Microsoft forum. The OP stated he needed the files which were being compressed and had to decompress them every time he booted up.

Of course it was found he had a 128 GB SSD and only had 10 GBs free.

this update refuses to install on my machine. always get an error code :

not sure why. I already have reset the WU,even ran the troubleshooter without helping. not sure what is going on. the last CU installed with no problems manually though...

There are some threads and even a sticky on the Microsoft site about this update. The response marked as an answer is to hide that update. The error code just means there was a fatal error during installation.

Interesting though: there is a new version out "2019-01" which installed without a problem (just needed a restart). It seems I am good again. Must have been a faulty update...

give update window 1703 update but I am not get update. error more and they give all xp related window update
