Password constantly required to use computer

I am often having to sign in to windows when powering up, eapecially after an update, even though I have not checked the box that requires this in User Accounts. I am repeatedly using the solution given here some years ago to run netplwiz, check the box to require a password, then run it again and uncheck the box. This solves the problem temporarily but then after a while I have to do it again. The last time I ran this troubleshooter it didn't work and I had to sign in to my own computer. I don't want to have to do this. Why do I keep having this issue? Can't it be solved permanently?

Try this app from Microsoft. It will auto-log you in and end the password hassles. I have been using it for 5 years or more, and no longer curse at my pc.
