Pictures become blank in Office 2010

Infuriating when editing pictures, Save All saves some correctly and saves others as white blanks. Hovering over them shows size, date, etc, just as if the photo was there. Is this an Office thing or a Win10 thing?

Can you clarify one thing please.

Are you editing images then saving to a folder, but finding if you open the folder, some files are fine, but you see other files that appear as a blank icon, and cannot be opened to view the image?

Or are you editing an image already embedded into a Office Document, and after editing and saving, when you re-open the document, the embedded image is now just a blank area?

Editing it in Pictures folder and saving it there. If saving each photo before editing the next one, or if saving only a few in a Save All. no problem. There seems to be a threshold, perhaps variable, beyond which the program can't cope.
