I got a notice from Microsoft that there is a problem with my account. It came through some sort of pop up on my desktop . I hadn't signed in. I didn't even know that I have a Microsoft account, but I went through the gyrations anyway. I changed my password. I was successful. When I was asked if I wanted to stay signed in, I chose yes so that I could find out what the problem was.

I got a window telling me that access is denied. WTH is going on?

One more thing: This is not related to another thread that I posted about my password not being recognized by my computer. It's a different computer.

You are most likely the victim of a phishing attack, at least that is what it looks like. Scammers often show a popup saying there are problems with your Microsoft account. Once they have your password and email, they can distribute Spam and malware in YOUR name.
I am not sure, what can be done about it. Might want to wait for a few more answers here....

I wasn't even online! Maybe the supposed problem has been taken care of.

Thanks for the input!
