Start up programmes

Chrome is my default browser. Why, therefore, has Microsoft Edge suddenly started to open on start up and after any 'sleep' period? I've followed on-line advise to uninstall Edge, (can't be done) and to delete from start up programmes, but Edge is not shown in Task Managers start up list.
