The configuration Registry Database is Corrupt

I am trying to load a reasonably new Epson WP-4530 printer driver and this is the message that I get.
I also have tried installing from the original discs but when the software starts searching for the printer (USB connected) it cant find it.
So if my database is corrupt how do I go about restoring it

Have you tried the native System File Checker utility to see if it comes up with any information?
Right click the Start Button and choose Command Prompt (Admin) and in the command prompt window type
sfc /scannow
hit enter
and let it run
see what the results indicate.
