Transferring sms from Samsung phone to Windows 10

What's the best way to transfer sms messages from Samsung Galaxy to Windows 10?

There are a number of youtube videos available, but I would appreciate a recommendation from this forum. If download of programme is necessary - free is preferable.

I have Samsung Kies loaded. Should I be utilizing that for backing up ALL phone data?

I think I've answered my own question! But will put it here in case someone else benefits from my conversation with myself!! Have just downloaded new version of Kies, which I'm sure will solve all the issues regarding backup of phone data!

If your Samsung android is like my HTS it should have a sync manager software. Plug your phone to your computer with a USB cable, it should detect the device automatically and list all of the Samsung OS Folders. You should be able to open the folders and transfer to PC.
