Windows 10 issue

I installed Windows 10 on my NEW computer 9/5 and it worked fine. Approximately 11/12 I could no longer get into the start menu or Cortana. My other programs such as Hallmark card studio works if it doesn't need Internet. I have done diagnostics on my computer hardware and no problem.

Right click the Start Button and choose "System"
Left column choose "System protection"
Click the System Restore button
Click the radio button that says "Choose a different restore point"
Check the box that says "Show more restore points"
Choose a restore point prior to

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I think it happened when Windows was updated on 10/12. I am going to turn off automatic updates. I had a problem with a different computer several years ago and it was from an update.
