Windows 10 Photos Trim Function Not Working

Repeatedly tried trimming videos using MS Photos. Results: (a) app gets hung up at about 95% point, or (b) the app abruptly shuts down. App used to work okay. I tried repairing and reseting the app, as well as restarting the computer. Suggestions?
