SOLVED Windows 10 update problems - downloaded dec 2017

Hello .... my windows 10 did an automatic (hugh) update at the beginning of December and ever since my computer has been very slow in loading all my programs or they don't load at all ... as well the desktop icons will not open when i double click on them or even when i right click on the mand choose open ...the cursor is very loose and unsteady .....I have a Acer laptop .... could i please get some help ... thanks in advance ......
