Windows hard freezing when left idle.

Googling around I see this was solved two years ago, but it persists with me. When I leave Windows 10 unattended, it hard freezes. It sees the mouse cursor but does not perform any mouse or keyboard functions. Does not respond to Control ALT DELETE. The only thing that works is to turn off the power. Very annoying.

I am not particularly technically savvy. Is there a basic fix I can perform?

this might help?:

IF YOU PRESS THE POWER BUTTON TO SWITCH OFF YOUR PC, MAKE SURE YOU PRESS AND HOLD THE BUTTON UNTIL THE PC SHUTS DOWN (soft power down); DON'T JUST PRESS THE BUTTON QUICKLY OTHERWISE YOU WILL EVENTUALLY/POSSIBLY RUIN YOUR HARD-DRIVE!.
