Restoring from a system backup that was made at any particular point in time will automatically exclude any files that were created after the backup was made.
My suggestion would be to make every effort to backup your critical data before proceeding any further, copying off your files and folders to external media.
You can boot from bootable media
1. A Linux live distro https://www.linuxmint.com/edition.php?id=205
2. The Windows 10 installation media and use the Command Prompt https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/techbench
3. Hirens Boot disk http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/

Your user folder C:\Users\YourUserName (C:\ will likely be changed to another drive letter as a result of your booting from external media), so you'll have to look around a bit.

Could you give a little more information as to the process and how far along the upgrade process it was before you got stuck on the Blue colored screen?

I have not upgraded one of my Windows 7 installs and don't intend to but it does seem certain problems are related to that process. But it may take some time for an upgrade to complete. If you have certain types of devices, maybe even USB devices, it may cause problems. Older software may be involved but really hard to tell.
