Dear All,

I had upgraded to win 10 about two months ago. for the last two days my c drive is getting filled up automatically. It is in excess of 90 gb and yet yesterday It was full. I tried to use the help from online and checked on dosv files etc but to no avail. I then decompressed all files using the option under properties on right clicking the c drive and got 25 gb free this morning. I am watching helplessly as it has already reduced to 19 gb and is reducing fast with no activity and no internet down load etc from my side. could someone....anyone please help

Thanks in advance

I don't have a definitive answer for you. Just to share an experience with you......................

I use Ccleaner for years on all my computers. And I use it to do the disk cleanup instead of using the Windows own application.

Since the upgrade to Windows 10, my Ccleaner has been frequently popping up with a warning asking me to run it. And each time it removed, or I should say, it regained a large amount of disk space for me.
In fact, just moments ago I received a warning. I ran the cleaner and I recovered 772 MB of disk space. see screenshot at the end.

Perhaps you would consider installing Ccleaner as well.
It has a free edition which is what I am using.

Perhaps try using something like
WinDirStat http://www.fosshub.com/WinDirStat.html
Which will give you an opportunity to see what is consuming your hard disk space and where it is located.
With that information you may have a better idea as to what you might be able to do about it.
Other than that you may want to also, check your system for malicious software

These are the programs I use to generally delouse a computer with virus and or malware issues.
ADWcleaner from here http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/dl/125/
JRT (Junkware Removal Tool) from here http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/junkware-removal-tool/dl/131/
Norton Power Eraser from here https://security.symantec.com/nbrt/npe.aspx
Malwarebytes from here http://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/confirm/
SuperAntiSpyware from here http://www.superantispyware.com/downloadfile.html?productid=SUPERANTISPYWAREFREE
Ccleaner from here http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard
TFC.exe (Temporary Files Cleaner) from here http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/files/file/187-tfc-temp-file-cleaner-by-oldtimer/
ESET Online Scanner from here http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner/
Eset online scanner is a bit different than the others in that you need to either use
IE or download and run their smart installer if you're using another browser. Then tick
the radio button that says "Enable detection of potentiall unwanted application"
Then click the link that says "Advanced settings", then check all the boxes except the
one that mentions "Use custom proxy settings", unless of course you're using a Proxy
Server. Then just click "Start", it will do a thorough system scan so it takes a long
time.
I don't check the links above everyday, so if you have any problem with any one of them then just Google for the program name but use the site names that I have recommended since I'm relatively certain they are free of extraneous garbage.
