Cannot access my Mail app

I cannot open my Mail App, it did open after the initial set up of Windows 10 but now wont open at all. If I want to access mail I have to go to Hotmail. I have also noticed that if I leave the computer for a short while then I cannot access any app I have to sign out and sign in again?
