Cannot connect to internet

My friend is trying to connect to my internet. When I click on the router name and select connect a cross appears and it says unable to connect...any idea what this can be any help appreciated.
Sometimes it asks for the password which I enter but then again says cannot connect to this network

It's possible the security types are not matching. Also some routers have a setting that require you to enter the MAC address of the item that wants to connect to it. I have mine set up like that for an extra layer of protection.

Firewall settings may be preventing other devices from connecting.
Check your firewall settings "Allow apps or devices to connect"
