Hi,

I recently upgraded from windows 7 and I found that after the upgrade I can't connect to any router's that are set on wifi channels 12 and 13. It doesn't even detect it, as if the router wasn't on, whereas before the upgrade it detected it and I was also able to connect without any problems. I figured out that was the problem after messing with the router settings until I came upon it, so I can confirm that is the problem and not anything else.

I understand that channels 12 and 13 are not available in the US, but they are in Europe and they're the two fastest channels in the area where I live as they tend to have far less traffic, so it's a big problem not being able to connect to them.

Any help resolving this problem is greatly appreciated,
James

The ability to connect your wifi adapter to channels above 11 will depend to some extent on the driver you have installed, so make sure that it is the latest available.
Then, right click the start button, choose run and type
ncpa.cpl
right click the wireless adapter and choose properties.
Click the "configure" button near the top right
From the tab menu along the top select "Advanced"
In the left column look for something related to "Country" and or "Region"
Then use the drop down in the right column to change it accordingly.
