Can't run iTunes

I can download iTunes, but can't open it. I have spent literally hours on the phone with Apple support (at no charge I might add), but they finally concluded that something in Windows 10 is preventing the program from working.

I just went to Apple to get iTunes for Windows and it kicked me over to the Microsoft Store, downloading now. It's available for Windows 10 version 16299.0 or higher, either x86 or x64 and about 469MB in size.

Update: looks like it installed okay. I just played a song from my Music Folder.

IIRC from experience getting rid of an itunes that said it installed but would not run requires some particular sequence of events after the regular uninstall of the app. I asked Dr Google and found it. Don't remember exactly what it was.
