Windows 10 has an option to let Windows control your default printer. Go to Settings, Devices. Under Printers & Scanners, there is a button that says, 'Let Windows mange my default printer'. Turn it off.

It's supposed to help on mobile devices so that your default printer will be set at different physical locations.
