Deleting from Download

I have tried to delete items from the download file. I select the files to be deleted and hit delete. Nothing happens. If I his delete again, a box comes up saying file is no longer there. But it still appears in the download file.

Sounds like for some reason file explorer is not updating the view.
Have you tried clicking the refresh button / icon at the end of the address bar near the top just under the ribbon in file explorer?
If you close and reopen file explorer and browse back to the parent container, are the files that you deleted still there?
