Excel becomes unresponsive when FILE tab is clicked

I'm using Microsoft Office 2013 and since my upgrade to Windows 10, Excel is broken. I have been using it to convert text to csv files, and the text-to-column process works fine, but when I click on the FILE tab to save my work, Excel becomes non-responsive and my only choice is to shut down. I've tried waiting for it to fix itself, but nothing happens. These are small files, with less than 100 rows and 5 columns.

Anybody else see this? Any hints?
