Firefox font problem

For the last few days the font in many of the web sites I visit seems ugly in Firefox latest (50.0.1). Here's an example from the Guardian online:

I didn't get the same problem on my old XP PC which I've just restarted and updated to latest version of Firefox.

The issue seems to relate to this option:

Any other Win 10 Firefox users seeing similar problem please?

Mine is set up exactly the same and the default display is checked too. No problems with FF font.
I also checked the link you provided, no problems there either. Could It possibly could be your monitor settings?

Seems unlikely to be a monitor issue, as I find that both Edge and IE display the same sites OK.

Terry have you attempted to delete all your cache and cookies? That would refresh the Guardian web page.

I'm unsure if this is the cause of the problem but I think I may have found at least a way of improving text appearance overall. The Windows Clear Type setting was unchecked. After enabling it there seems a significant improvement.
