Hardware acceleration doesn't always provide a pleasant experience. Some applications that using it may run much less systematically. So, for example, if you have a black screen issue in Chrome, you should manually disable hardware acceleration in the browser.

I've had to disable it in the past for various reasons. I don't have any issues at the present time.

How to disable hardware acceleration in Chrome, you ask?
  1. Open Chrome.
  2. Click the horizontal ellipsis menu button in the top-right corner and click on Settings.
  3. Click on Advanced from the left pane.
  4. Click on System.
  5. Under the “System” section, turn off the Use hardware acceleration when available toggle switch.
I hope this helps!
