I cant select "7.1 virtual surround sound"

I got a new headset HS70 SE corsair and i tried to turn the 7.1 in the settings and i cant. The 7.1 is grayed out and the drop down only says off. What is happening?

I haven't yet seen any headsets that can provide 8-channel sound required by 7.1 surround sound such as for speakers. Since headsets usually are only 2 'speakers' it may not work.

The sound features usually will show what is available considering the sound card/adapter and speakers plugged into it.

Are you using the Corsair software that came with the headset? It may be that you need their software installed to enable the virtual surround features. My headset was only recognised as a generic USB headset until I installed the companion software (although it's a different make).
