Apparently it has worked for some, although.....
It may depend on where the files are located and what or who has permissions to manipulate those files. You may want to check the properties of one of the individual files (Security Tab -> Advanced button) for "Owner" and who is listed under users and groups and what their permissions are.

NOTE: The registry disclaimer and sometimes when you make a registry change it might require a reboot to actually work.
