Lost my windows 10 account

Hello
After logging off from my ASUS laptop windows 10 and relogging I have lost my original desktop icons and screensaver.
My files appear to be in C and D drives
However when I try and change the "new" desktop , new screen saver and adding missing icons and files on this desktop - they all disappear again when i log off and log on again
Any help right now would be good

Have you rebooted? sometimes this will bring back your correct user account.
If that doesn't fix it. have you logged in using your MS account? Try logging off and back in using your MS Account
