Monitor won't turn off when prompted

I have windows 10 and I went to the -power options, -choose what the powerbuttons do, and selected turn off monitor for when the power button is pressed. But when I press the power button, nothing happens.

Is it a laptop or normal PC as there are a couple of differences?, the main one being the "Slider setting" for laptops which can be accessed by clicking on the battery icon in the taskbar (bottom panel).

In Control Panel > Power Options you can also make a couple of changes depending what you click on!.

Apart from that, I cannot really see any other options!.
