I have downloaded and installed Win 10 over the previous Win 8.1 which was working reasonably well. However the new build cannot connect to my ISP's router and the internet. I have both an ethernet and a wireless connection. Only the wireless can see the router but not connect to the internet. The ethernet connection shows Limited. It may be that the new build can't activate the default licence key because of the lack of an internet connection.
The first Admin Event error in the log states:

Did you upgrade Windows 8.1 or perform a clean install by formatting or otherwise wiping the previous installation?
However the new build cannot connect to my ISP's router and the internet.
This may simply be a driver issue for your network hardware (wireless and wired). Without having any details with respect to your machine's specs and the associated network interface devices installed, it is difficult to suggest a way forward.

This was an upgrade to Win 8.1. Attached specs of my laptop. I have installed the latest HP drivers for Win 8.1 but it makes no difference.

Get your driver for your Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter directly from Atheros here https://www.atheros.cz/atheros-wireless-drivers.html
There is a AR9485 driver and a AR9485WB just below it. One or the other should work for you.
Get your driver for your Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller directly from Realtek here http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads...d=5&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false
The 3rd one down labeled Win8, Win8.1 and Server 2012 Auto Installation Program (SID:1726143) VERSION 8.038.... should do it.

Thanks for your advice, but installing the new drivers hasn't made any difference.
