norton & windows 10

After doing upgrade from windows 7 to windows 10 I no longer have Norton, thought that it would come a long for the ride, do I need to manually upgrade norton

Think I read elsewhere that they have something available already that is compatible with Windows 10, however......
I don't know if applies to your particular subscription model or not.

My antivirus suite got turned off after the upgrade from 8.1 . Now im back with windows defender. I had BitDefender 2015 TotalSecurity before. Most people will just use the built in Defender, but my question is... is it better than Defender of windows 8/ microsoft Security Essentials ??? is a third party antivirus better for us?
