Had 4 physical drives: C, D, E & F. Was backing up to a portable drive. When I attached the portable drive, Win10 assigned it letter G. Drive D developed problems so I transferred its files to a folder on C and added this folder to the backup list. I then physically removed drive D. Now when I attach the portable drive, Win10 assigns it letter D. This wouldn't be a problem except the Backup & Restore (Win7) backup list includes drive D and I don't know how to remove it from the backup list

It looks like you’re having trouble with the backup settings picking up the wrong drive letter. To fix this, you’ll need to go into the Backup and Restore (Win7) settings from the Control Panel. Click on “Change settings” and you’ll be guided through the setup process again. You should be able to remove the old drive letter (D) from the list here. Just make sure to reconfigure your backup destination to your portable drive, which is now recognized as G. Save the settings and run a backup to confirm everything is updated correctly.

Hello! It sounds like the drive letter confusion is causing issues with your backup list. To resolve this, first, go to Disk Management by right-clicking on the Start button and selecting it from the menu. Find your portable drive, which is currently listed as D, and change its letter to something else, like Z. Then, go back to Backup and Restore (Win7) and you should be able to remove the old drive from the backup list since it no longer matches the new letter. After you’ve updated the settings, you can change the drive letter back to G or whatever you prefer. Make sure to verify that everything is set up correctly by running a test backup.

You can also access the Backup and Restore (Win7) settings through the Control Panel. Click on “Manage space” and then look for an option to view or manage backups.
