SOLVED Removing a Persistant McAfee File.

Hello

First time posting here

I have searched everywhere and can not find the help im needing be it im not certain on the correct terms of the processes needed to fix this issue.

My aunty has just updated to windows 10 from 8.1. previously had McAfee installed and had removed it on the 8.1 build unfortunately 1 file "msmm" had not been removed before she updated to windows 10.

I can only find help for removing the file for 8.1 and it wont work in windows 10
the file is currently using 50% CPU, so you can see why I need to get this fixed.

if i go into task manager and turn it off it restarts
if i go into servies.msc the option to stop them is greyed out
i can find the file location but can not delete it because its running

I have even tried safe mode, logging in and trying the above and still have the same results, can ot remove the file.

If anyone has any tips or help to be able to be able to find and stop this annoying little file it would be greatly appreciated.

YOu should be able to use the mcpr.exe (McAfee Consumer Product Remover) tool from here
