Removing unwanted contacts

I am currently following the steps to open the People app - locate the contact to remove.
There is a very limited list of my contacts are showing up. I have typed in the email address - and it still does not appear.

Hi Eliza,

Welcome to the Forum.

When you open your People app, have you clicked the settings cog located in bottom left corner of the app window? That takes you to the People Settings window, and on the left side about half way down is a link you can click: Filter contact list which if clicked gives you a few options to determine what contacts are displayed.
