second monitor to display only part of first monitor?

How to make a second monitor only display part of the first monitor, but then full screen/bigger?

I've tried the extend monitor option, but that creates a virtual extra desktop, not what I'm looking for. So I choose the option to duplicate and tried all the display settings for the second monitor, but there are no options to configure which part of the first monitor to display.

Am I overlooking something here?

Do you mean something that will magnify part of screen 1 and show it on screen 2? If so, you may need to use 3rd party software to do that. This app looks like it'll work on a dual screen setup:

yes that look like what I mean.
I'm currently having an other issue with windows not seeing the other monitor, so got to solve that first.
