Tried to set up my Canon CP720 photo printer today. Canon say they have no drivers available, found one on Cnet which I downloaded to old laptop still on Vista but when I try to install it using 10 it says that this version of windows cannot download a printer driver. Has anyone else encountered this?

This product is not compatible with the operating system selected and no drivers will be made available.

They do offer a Windows 7 driver which you may be able to get to work

But if the driver / software package has a version checker (Like my HP Printer) you may not be able to get it to work, even attempting to use compatibility mode when installing.
It seems that even Microsoft doesn't provide a native generic driver for this particular Canon Printer

Thanks for your input. When I first plugged it in a driver was downloaded but it only recognised the printer as a 'usb device' so useless. Guess I'll just have to use the old laptop!
