I normally download the Guardian crossword for my wife daily, I'm too thick to do it myself. Last Friday my wife took a telephone call purportedly from BT saying they were doing some work in the area which might upset local Broadband.

From Friday I have been unable to download any crossword from the Guardian all I can get is a message saying, “Trouble loading.” Do any Guardian Crossword users have the same problem?

They work OK for me @BML. Is it this page you are using?: https://www.theguardian.com/crosswords

Which browser are you using and I'll check using that.

I'm a little concerned about the call from BT about broadband work in your area as I've never heard of them doing this before, but I have heard of scams that start off like this. They didn't get you to do anything on the PC did they?

As a not very technical person I'm not sure what a Browser is but think that it may be Internet Explorer and I've not changed it. When I open the Guardian Web page up I found it to be as follows. http://www.guardian.co.uk/crosswords/series/quick
I then tried yours which is a trifle different https://www.theguardian.com/crosswords but all I got was as follows Print | PDF version | Accessible version
I then went to the bottom of what was an empty page and found the following "Loading comments… Trouble loading?" with three winking buttons underneath clicked on the "Trouble loading" and found the following so I'm totally confused.

"Comments

Yes, Internet Explorer is a browser :). I can't get it working in Internet Explorer 11 either - it may be worth using "Edge" that came with Windows 10, as this is the replacement browser. There are alternatives like Google Chrome (https://www.google.com/chrome/) which are also good.

I was not sure about "Edge" as I'm a creature of habit so I tried Chrome and it worked. Seems strange to me with absolutely no response from the Guardian so thank you very much, Brian
