I use an application playing .wav and .midi files at the same time. Windows 10 only allows to change volume of both files contemporary while I would like to change volume of the two files separately (lowering .wav while keeping .midi volume high and viceversa). I would like to change volume by source (like in windows XP) and not by application (like in windows 10. Do you know any kind of drive to be used in windows 10 to perform the feature "volume by source" ?

Thanks for your suggestion. I tried the software eartrumpet but the situation did not change : the volume control is still by application.
