Just downloaded the free Windows 10 upgrade and I can not find my Word program anywhere. I have searched in the applications option as well as the search aid. When I search " Microsoft Word" it does find a couple of word files and I can open them up. Also, I have my Excel file just not Word. Anyone able to help me?

Hi,

Normally you should be able to click Start Orb - select All Apps - scroll down to Microsoft Word

If the App is not showing ( a known bug ) you might want to run your Windows Updates as this issue was resolved last year with the November updates.

Failing that you can create a short cut by going to the folder containing the Word.exe
  • For Microsoft Office 2003
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office10
  • For Office 2010
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14, or
    • C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14 (If 64-bit version)

Once you locate Word.exe inside either Office10 or Office14 folder right click on it and select Create Shortcut

That will place a shortcut on your desktop.

Happy Computing.

Click the start button and type
winword
should be at the top of the list
right click and choose open file location
right click it there and choose pin to start
or if you prefer send to desktop create shortcut

Glad it worked for you.
Just surprised that you weren't albe to find it in the all apps menu. It should have been there, but....
If it isn't ..... it isn't.... and certainly not the strangest thing we've heard regarding a Windows 10 upgrade or update for that matter.
