White icons

When I booted up my laptop today some of my desktop icons loaded normally, but some of them were just blank white. I tried re-booting but still the same. Not really a problem as the icons still work, but why did this happen and how do I get them back to normal?

I have the latest version with all updates downloaded. Howeer, I have found a solution. I created new icons and deleted the white ones! How they got there, I'll never know.

MS has a problem with icons many times, it is a very common issue... several free program will fix or as you stated.
delete the icon (actually a shortcut) and then remake the icon (shortcut) .
