Why Does The Process "system" Use This Much Ram?

If you've just completed the install or even if you've just restarted your computer .... it's going to percolate some but should return to something closer to normal after some time.
And that may ebb and flow from time to time, especially when the system is idle, as often, Windows takes that time as an opportunity to catch up on background processes that are suspended when you are busy using your computer.

My system process uses about 358 MB of RAM, always has. It's just the nature of the beast, and I have 8GB (2-4GB sticks) of DDR3 16000 RAM installed.

Don't worry about it... it's just the nature of how Windows works.
