Creating a desktop icon with Win 8 was VERY EASY. No so, with Win 10.
I'm a senior who doesn't grasp things as I once did so I NEED a 'simple' method to create a desktop icon
from any site that I happen to be on.

(In steps PLEASE)

Thanks, Don

Start Button -> All Apps -> Windows Accessories -> Internet Explorer
in the URL Address Bar, (not the search box) type or copy and paste
Code:
https://www.windows10forums.com/threads/win-10-icons.5846/
right click, just to the right of your word "PLEASE" in your post above and choose "Create Shortcut" near the middle of the right click context menu.
Click the yes button.

Hi, again. When I get to step 4 in your reply, (Internet Explorer) I get "this page can't be displayed" Check
the web address, http://internet explorer. If we correct this, we'll probably have it solved. Thanks again
for your help. Don

So you are saying that you cannot open Internet Explorer? OR.....
Are you saying that when you open Internet Explorer, it will not open the website?
I didn't actually number the steps, but I think opening Internet Explorer would be #4, I guess.
The copy and paste in the code is simply the link to this thread
