Windows 10 will not connect to the internet at all - via wifi or ethernet

Just trace the wire coming out of your Ethernet adapter and find where the other end is plugged in. It should be connected to one of the four switch ports and then you should see a light on the front indicating that connectivity.
Conversely, there should be a WAN port on the back of the router, that if you trace it, it should go to your ISP provided device (cable modem, dsl modem, whatever).

I took my spare windows 7 laptop out into the hallway where the router is located.
I used a new Cat6 Cable an pluged it in the back . I got lights to indicate the router and the win 7 computer were connected via ethernet .
This mean ehternet on the win 7 computer is fine and also the router can detect LAN fine ?


Now I will try with the windows 10 computer ...
