WinZip file archiver.

Greetings.
I have a problem with WinZip file archiver.
When i extract a compressed .zip file on Windows 10 i recieve the following error: "This file was compressed using an unknown compression method"
Please advise me something for .zip file fix.

it's possible the compressed files were created with RAR archiver. I use RAR in win 7 but can't say for sure if it will open Win Zip files? I believe it does.

You can reinstall your WINRAR or your zip converter. Then restart your computer.

hello everyone! Thanks for assistance. I tried to reinstall WinZip..no luck. 7-zip gives me the same error!!
I think the file is damaged

What version of winzip are you using?

Given each version uses its own compression algorithm you may need to make some adjustments in your settings to allow for extracting a compressed file from a more up to date version.

This problem occurs if the the computer on which you try to extract the file has an earlier version of WinZip installed. To work around this problem select the maximum compression method in WinZip. If it useless your file is damaged. In this case use Zip Fix Toolbox https://www.fixtoolbox.com/zipfix.html
This program can repairs all types of compressed files with zip extension.
