Edge double opens and freezes

Edge on my Dell Vostro has begun malfunctioning. When I open, it double opens and then freezes as soon as I go into a site. Have to go to task manager to close. Not happening on my Windows tablet.

Restarting and clearing all data did not work.

I have gone back to Chrome but miss the news page on Edge.

Try running the native System File Checker utility.
Right click the Start Button and choose Command Prompt (Admin) and in the command prompt window type
sfc /scannow
hit enter
let it complete and see if it produces any information
