Hi,

I have in the past readily connected two computers directly via an Ethernet crossover cable under Win7 and Win XP but cannot get this to work under Windows 10.
No specific messages, just cannot see the alternate device from either notebook.
Does anyone know the step by step to make this happen under Win 10 ?

Thanks,

I have found the problem here, for some strange reason the MAC address of the network adapter in each notebook had the same physical address. I thought all NICs were supposed to have a unique address ? Anyway, changed one of the addresses and all working now as expected.

Yep.... they are absolutely suppose to be unique.
Good find.
thanks for the follow-up and sharing that information.
Much appreciated.
