I was on windows 7 and moved to 10. My windows live email folders transferred but none of the items in the folders transferred. When I sync it just says that the folder is empty. Is there a solution? Thanks,

Hi economistruss,

Welcome to the forum.

All Windows Live emails, Inbox, Outbox, Trash, Sent etcetera are stored here:
  • C:\Users\<the username you log on with>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail

If you open File Explorer you can copy & paste the following into its address bar then hit Enter key to get there:

    Code:
    %localappdata%\microsoft\windows live mail
As you say your folders are empty its possible the relevant data you want is currently residing in your Windows.old folder instead. This is your original Windows 7 setup here.

You can open C:\Windows.old and then navigate to the above location where your emails ought to be stored.

Once you find them you can copy the folders over to your current Windows 10 location, or via Windows Live Mail application import these emails.
