Latest Mail App Crashes Display Driver

I have what looks like s serious problem with the Mail app. I updated the Mail app from the Store. When I run it, It briefly comes up, then the screen starts to blink between black and the app and if I wait a few seconds, the system exits the app and the display resolution drops. I get a notification that "the display driver failed to start so it is using MS basic display driver, check windows update". When I run driver update, I am told that I am using the latest display driver. This happens every time and only with the Mail app. In the event log, I get the following error followed by a warning. Please let me know if this is fixable or recommend another mail app.

First of all you are already two cumulative updates behind. The most recent build is 14393.1358 .
second I'd recommend to update to the creators update 15063 .

Thank you Grizzly for your super quick review. I guess Mail is asking the display driver to do something it can not handle. Maybe it is this stupid visualization art the comes up when the app starts up. I will take your advice and update to creators and pray that that will fix it.
