Hello Ian and welcome to the forum.
Your question is a bit vague and a picture is worth a thousand words, can you use the Windows Logo Key + Print Screen Key to take a snapshot of what you are seeing and attach it to your next post.
That will place an image in your Pictures\Screenshots folder.

I assume you are talking about the "Tile" area?
Is it there at all?
If you right click something in the all apps menu and choose pin to start what happens?
