I upgraded my sapphire pure black x58 motherboard computer memories, from 12gig DDR3 1066 Mhz, to 24gig DDR3 1333 Mhz. it worked first time but instead of 24gig it registered 7.99gig. I checked bios registered 8 gig only. second time it didn't started at all. Installed back the 12gig DDR3 1066 Mhz. Is there any one can tell me why ? Processor is 2.66 Ghz intel processor. I believe it will run 24gig 1333Mhz DDR3 memories, Processor maximum memory band width is covers.

According to this

It looks to me like the specs are correct for your upgrade
Assuming that you are using three 8 gig sticks of RAM then according to this
http://asia.dl.sapphiretech.com/arc...8 user manual 20101109_634889325703859830.pdf (page 11) you'll need to populate DIMM slots 1, 3, and 5

If you have previously preconfigured your memory specs manually then you should return that to auto and any over clocking you might be doing should also be return to defaults.
Other than that, it is possible that you have purchased a couple bad stick of memory.

You could conceivably use Slot #1 and the free edition of http://www.memtest86.com/download.htm to test and see what might be going on.
